Solomon's wisdom was so great, it was like the grains of sand on the seashore. King Solomon wrote over 3,000 wise sayings to help his people. People from other countries came to hear Solomon's knowledge for themselves.
This great wisdom came from the Lord. Soon after Solomon became king, he prayed, "God, I am not smart enough to rule your people. Help me know the difference between right and wrong. Give me wisdom."
The Lord was pleased with Solomon's prayer. He gave Solomon more knowledge and
understanding than any other person has ever had.
